Dow Success NeoTM for prompt, precise control of forage brassica pests typically under threat by diamondback moth, cutworms, armyworm, Argentine stem weevil, lucerne flea and slugs. “We just couldn’t beat the moths with the old chemicals and most people stopped growing turnips for that reason. Dan introduced us to Success Neo and applied it before any damage was done.” “Success Neo needs to be applied by someone who knows what they’re doing and that’s why we trust Dan to take care of it.” Stephen agreed, saying getting rid of brassica pests had gone beyond just spraying with the old chemicals and they, too, had Dan sort the problem out for them. “We mostly grow turnips, as well as some rape and chicory. Dan helps us take care of our existing pest spectrum with chlorpyrifos Lorsban insecticide in the pre-sow herbicide burn-off.” “Success Neo helps beat both diamondback moth, our toughest pest, cutworm and some loopers. The timing is critical and Dan makes sure we hit the pests at the right time. I’d certainly recommend Success Neo as part of an effective brassica pest strategy,” said Stephen. Success Neo provides excellent control, has high photo-stability and translaminar activity for good residual activity. It’s also selective to the main beneficial insects, is safe to use and has a defined withholding period. In addition to diamondback moth it safely controls cabbage white butterfly, cabbage cluster caterpillar, centre grub, heliothis and native budworm. A new herbicide, ForageMax, TM containing ArylexTM active, is soon to be launched in Australia. ForageMax will control fat-hen, thistles and many of the other problem broadleaf weeds in a range of forage brassicas. This option, plus the ability to control diamondback moth, gives growers the right tools to maximise on-farm feed production and grow valuable forage brassica crops. Roundup ULTRA® MAX is a 570g liquid knockdown herbicide with a specially formulated and patented surfactant system. Made by Monsanto to the highest standards, Roundup ULTRA MAX is fully loaded and ready to use. Sinochem Australia commissioned independent trials across Australia to show how effective Roundup ULTRA MAX was for use on a range of weeds. Replicated trials were conducted in different regions, with and without the addition of adjuvants. * Glyphosate 450g products often recommend the use of ammonium sulphate regardless of hard water as well as products like LI700.® Trials were performed with soft water, both with and without LI700 and ammonium sulphate. Results from these trials showed that when used at label rates Roundup ULTRA MAX delivered equivalent and consistent performance without the addition of adjuvants. When treating dense infestations of silver grass, bent grass or serrated tussock, the addition of Wetter TX may be required. Talk to your CRT Local Bloke to see if Roundup ULTRA MAX is a good fit for your spring/summer cropping program. *Trials were conducted by Peracto Pty Ltd in Wundowie (WA) and Miepoll (VIC), October 2013. The product label should be consulted before use of Roundup ULTRA MAX. Roundup ULTRA® is a registered trademark of Monsanto Technology LLC. LI700 is a registered trademark of Loveland Products Inc.
