CRT Catalogue Pull-out Feature : CRT Spring 2014 - Tech Update
Crop Protection Tech Update GRAMOXONE ® New GRAMOXONE® 360 PRO is an efficient and flexible paraquat product delivering growers more value with every hectare sprayed. GRAMOXONE 360 PRO has been formulated with an advanced 360g/L active loading that delivers benefits including up to 30 per cent less product to transport, store and handle. Efficiencies created by reducing the volume of product required flow through the entire spray process and include faster work rates and reduced litres per hectare which offers considerable advantages for growers. “When adjuvants are built into products it limits the ability of growers to tailor its use. It also restricts performance across a wider range of conditions, weed types and water rates,” said Garth Wickson, Syngenta Solutions Development Manager. “GRAMOXONE 360 PRO has been formulated as adjuvant-free which gives growers choice in selecting an adjuvant Issue 10 Spring 2014 a new and efficient paraquat that suits their conditions or specific spray targets.” “In many cases, this flexibility to select adjuvants tailored to individual operations can improve spray efficacy.” The spray can be applied using medium to coarse spray droplets and in conjunction with lower drift adjuvants to minimise the risk of off-target damage through spray drift. GRAMOXONE 360 PRO will be available in 100L and 1,000L containers, which are designed for use with a closed-loop pumping system to reduce the risk of exposure during mixing and loading. “In conjunction with the product’s release Syngenta will provide a comprehensive paraquat technical training, safety and stewardship program that includes essential information for growers and advisors. The program will include online training modules on resistance management, application and product knowledge,” said Garth. Trial sprayed in June 2013 with 01 Airmix nozzles at 100L/ha (by Peracto SA). The standard paraquat spray strip (picture 1) shows signs of some spray drift while GRAMOXONE 360 PRO sprayed in the same conditions with a low drift adjuvant (picture 2), was more effective at hitting the target weeds.
