CRT Catalogue Pull-out Feature : CRT Winter 2014 - Tech Update
There’s always better value at CRT. Crop Protection Where Triathlon has been compared to the newer, post-emergent broadleaf herbicide standards, its control levels are similar but, again, demonstrate its superior residual weed control versus these other new products. Flexibility in application timing, cost effectiveness, compatibility, 3 modes of action and broad spectrum weed activity make Triathlon an ideal choice for cereal growers across the country. Triathlon is available for the 2014 season from selected CRT outlets. Triathalon® is a registered trademark of Farmoz Pty Ltd. Legacy® MA is a registered trademark of Farmoz Pty Ltd. Flight® EC is a registered trademark of BASF used under licence by Nufarm Australia Ltd. Movento® 240 SC Insecticide is a powerful and innovative insecticide from Bayer CropScience already registered for the control of various sucking pests in a large range of crops including fruits, vegetables and cotton. Movento is the only Group 23 insecticide available in Australia. It provides a useful tool in the fight against insecticide resistance and is the ideal rotation partner in target crops. Movento has unique ‘2-way systemicity’. Its active ingredient, spirotetramat, is distributed by both plant transport systems, the xylem and phloem. After penetrating into leaf tissue, it becomes highly mobile in sap flows moving both up and back down through the plant. Giving shoot to root protection, it reaches those parts of the plant where pests have previously been able to ‘hide’ and may not have been adequately controlled. After application, Movento takes some time to reach peak activity but it has demonstrated a very long residual effect in Australian trials. Soft on most beneficial species, Movento has minimal impact compared to broad-spectrum alternatives when used as directed. It is also generally highly compatible with Integrated Pest Management production systems. An application for registration of Movento for use in table grapes, stone and pome fruit has been presented to the APVMA with registration expected by spring 2014. The application seeks efficacy claims against the following key sucking pests of these crops: • Table grapes: Mealybugs (various), grapevine scale and thrips (various) • Pome fruit: Mealybugs (various), woolly apple aphid and San Jose scale • Stone fruit: Mealybugs (various), aphids (various) and San Jose scale Movento requires a suitable adjuvant to help it move through the plant’s epidermal layers into the leaf tissue. Agridex® has proven in trials to be the most suitable adjuvant in the soon to be registered crops. Always use Movento 240 SC Insecticide according to the most recently registered label. Movento® and Agridex® are registered trademarks of the Bayer Group. Triathlon ® – The new broadleaf herbicide for cereal crops cont.
