There’s always better value at CRT. www.crt.com.au There’s always better value at CRT. Crop Protection TechUpdate–Winter2014 Issue 9 Winter 2014 Tech Update Triathlon ® – The new broadleaf herbicide for cereal crops Triathlon® is a unique, broad spectrum herbicide for use in winter cereals containing three active ingredients (diflufenican, bromoxynil and MCPA) from three different herbicide groups (Groups F, C and I). When applied early in the crop, Triathlon is an effective management tool for a range of broadleaf weeds as well as hard to control Wild Radish. A key feature of Triathlon is that it also provides residual activity to help control later germinating weeds. Triathlon at a glance: • Optimised formulation for Australian conditions and weeds • Excellent activity on Wild Radish, including many herbicide resistant biotypes • Excellent crop safety – extensively tested on multiple varieties and situations • Additional benefit of residual control for up to four weeks • Broad spectrum with control or suppression of forty seven key broadleaf weeds • Compatible with a wide range of products • Excellent rotational option for managing herbicide resistance. Trials show that the performance of Triathlon is superior to older broadleaf weed control standards, however, trials like the one conducted at Wongan Hills in WA, also demonstrate the superior residual control that the higher rates of Triathlon can offer on later germinating weeds.
